What is a Cold Joke?

when one hears a cold joke, he shivers in terror instead of laughing because the joke is so bad” – Definition of Cold Joke, Urban Dictionary

“Jokes told only by eskimos, penguins and polar bears.” – Yahoo! Answers (2006)

A cold joke is a type of jokes. A cold joke is a type of joke that is funny because of the fact it is not funny at all. It is weird for something to be funny when it is not funny at all. Take this cold joke for example. “A cold joke book is created if you put a joke book in the freezer.” Technically speaking, this is not funny because nobody in the world will put a joke book on a freezer. But if we look into the literal point of view, if you put something on the freezer, it will turn cold, which makes the joke funny literally.

Another characteristics of a cold joke is when after telling cold jokes, few crows fly above the cold joker’s head. Nobody understands why this phenomenon occurs, but a biologist expert specialises in the area of crows theorize that it could be that the crows are attracted to something cold, just like why houseflies are attracted to light.
